Platform Scale For Weighing Medical Waste
Platform scales were recently commissioned at a medical waste disposal plant in Dandenong, Victoria. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Salter branch in Melbourne, the platform scale weighs industrial bins containing medical waste that is destined for disposal.
The heavy duty platform scales were custom manufactured to suit the client’s specific application which requires staff to manually place the industrial wheelie bins both on and off the platform scales. The low profile design of Salter’s Prodeck platform scale is ideal for this weighing application and was supplied with both entry and exit ramps with the entry ramp manufactured with a shallow angle for easier bin access.
Instead of regular load cells which are prone to damage caused by side forces hitting the platform, Prodeck platform scales are fitted with the patented, Avery Weightronix heavy duty Weigh Bars that are extremely resilient to all types of external forces. So strong in fact, that in many cases, the Weigh Bars are usually fully operative even after the platform scale frame or deck has been nearly totally destroyed by external forces.
Salter’s platform scale is fitted with an A&D 4323 digital weight indicator displays for displaying the weight on the platform scales and also transmits data to a host PC for invoices to be generated based on the weight of waste processed over the floor scales.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company with branches in all mainland states that provide full after sales support on all Salter Prodeck platform scales.
