Plastic Core Trays
The Coretray Company
Packaging, Personal Protection, Drill Bits
There are many reasons to use plastic core trays over the traditional materials such as steel and timber – improved workplace safety and reduced costs to name a few, however there are many more reasons listed below to change over to plastic trays.
The new Discoverer Series 2, Stack and Nest tray has an even more bold START mark at the end of the tray to make it absolutely clear to the driller at which end he should commence to load the core from the core barrel inner tube, thereby eliminating possible errors in logging the core.
Polypropylene has a high level of resistance to organic chemicals found in drill core recovery, therefore you will experience no corrosion or contamination of the core from rust or residue left from the galvanizing process that steel trays go through.
Polypropylene is non magnetic which means you can evaluate the core without interference. The 'Discoverer' Core Tray uses highly UV stabilized polypropylene leading to excellent longevity – proven in the field since 1995.
The 'Discoverer' Core Tray offers the industry a standardised mode of core storage. Minimise your stock holdings by just carrying one range of standard sized products, instead of the multitude of sizes and types of metal trays.
Standardised models and sizes make it quicker and easier to re-supply your warehouse. The raw material is exceptionally durable in the harsh mining/exploration environment.
As the ‘Discoverer’ Core Trays are a one piece molding they have no pop rivets and welds which means increased product strength, and less damaged and unusable trays, dramatically reducing wastage.
Rounded edges mean no more dangerous sharp edges, leading to improved safety when handling.
Built in lifting handles provide ease of use when lifting & stacking. No more pinched fingers.
Built in ID label slot for Aluminium ID label, provides a more permanent record of contents.
Because we use plastic we can colour code the core trays which allows ease of identification in storage.
Polypropylene is highly resistant to impact, so less damage to trays in the field and less wastage.
Plastic remains relatively cool to touch when left outside, unlike metal trays therefore no more painful burns when handling core trays.
Fully recyclable superior raised ribbed design at the bottom of the rows improves drainage and makes it easier to slide the core into the drain.
Drain holes also let water out, keeping core dry and in optimum condition.
The ‘Discoverer’ Core Tray – Based on the original 'Explorer' Core Tray, the only plastic core tray with a proven performance since 1995.
