Whether you're having a specific mechanical issue or your bike needs some tender loving maintenance, let us sort it out for you.
In addition to all standard services and repairs, we're also renowned for our specialist work in:
- * Front and rear suspension servicing
- * Disc brake repairs
- * Shimano STI (road and MTB)/Campag Ergo shifter servicing
- * Frame alignment and machining
- * Custom wheel building, and
- * Custom bike fitting.
What will it cost?
You may notice that we don’t have a fixed price service (e.g. “Gold”/“minor”/“wipe it over and charge you $50” service, e.t.c.). Fixed price servicing assumes that everything will go wrong with your bike. Fixed price servicing also means you end up getting charged the maximum rate, even if nothing was repaired or needed doing. This ain’t fair. Instead, we work on an hourly rate, so you’re charged only for the time spent on your bike. Brill! Check out ballpark costs below, and remember: if you have a tight budget, we can work within that to the best of our ability, too.
General service - $130-160 plus parts
Gears slipping? Freewheel sticking? Stuff making noises it shouldn’t be making? Let our general service sort it out. We basically strip the bike down to a bare frame and rebuild it. Everything from the hubs to the headset is looked after. The result? Your bike leaves the workshop running smoothly, quietly, and like new.
Fork/shock service - $160** per end, including seals, grease, and oil
We're renowned for our in-house suspension service work. Not only is it done properly, it’s also done within a few days. You’re not paying for postage to send your precious bike bits interstate, and you’re not waiting for weeks while a monkey somewhere bangs them with a hammer.
** Note: If Talas or U-TurnAir fork servicing is required, you'll need to allow another $60 - 80.
Customised bike fitting - $100 plus parts (if any required)
A bike fitting can be an epiphany, particularly if you’ve experienced any aches and pains which have made it hard for you to enjoy your two-wheeling experiences. As happy customer Nathan Perkins says, "Both Sarah and I are feeling better than ever on the bike. No more back pain for me, and Sarah gets only a tiny bit of stiffness after the ride (pre-existing). Thanks! P.S. We've recommended you to anyone and everyone who will listen! Thanks again!"
Disc brake bleeding - $35 per end
If your brakes are spongy, crunchy, or doing anything they shouldn’t be doing (e.g. failing while you’re plummeting down The Mixer), let us get your pistons working. (Er… you know what we mean.) A full strip-down, clean, and re-build service is also available for $60 per end. Sweet.
Frame alignment/facing - $.. um.. hmm..
OK, we can’t really give a ballpark on this as it depends on what you want us to do. Give us a buzz and bring your projects in so we can have a look.
Other stuff - see above.
Irritating squeak from the bottom bracket? Mystery click from… somewhere? Seat post that won’t come loose? Speed wobbles? We’ll get it sorted.
Labour is charged at $120 per hour, but if all of your parts are sourced from BMCR, the labour rate drops to $72 per hour. Lovely!
