A male from Cashmere, received a four month disquialification for a drink drive offence recently. The male with a previous drink drive offence in 2004 was charged once more for drink driving after being detected at a road side breath test in March with a reading of .152.
The male was not eligible for a work licence as his reading was over .150. "My client works in Gladstone as a tradesman but comes home to Cashmere on his days off." Jamie Whitehead from Pine Rivers Traffic Lawyers submitted to the court recently. "As my client drives all day around Gladstone to and from jobs in the port and mines areas, any loss of licence would greatly affect my clients capacity to earn a living. My client seeks that his licence be disqulaified for the shortest possible period." Mr Whitehead submitted."
The court agreed that any such disqualfication would affect the males earning capacity. The male was disqualfied from driving for a period of four months and fined a sum of $400.
