Suspension, Cashmere, Licence
Pine Rivers Traffic Lawyer Jamie Whitehead recently became aware of matter that his colleagues at Cobb Law dealt with recently at Beaudesert Magistrates Court.
The male was charged with a drink drive reading of .156%. Whilst that is alarming, the set of facts put to the court by the police prosecutor was to reveal that this person had only been released from gaol after serving a full time custodial sentence for a 6th drink driving offence in two years.
"Our client had a history of demonstrating that he had a problem with alcohol and driving. He drove the car after consuming quite a large amount of liquor demonstrating a blatant disregard for the community and the law." Mr Whitehead said outside of court. "This person must recognise that any blatant disregard can only be met with punishment, as the law provides."
The male was sentenced to 14 months full time custody.
"This should be a wake up call to everyone. If you drink and drive you will get caught, please think of your family or if you don't have one, think of the risk that you are placing other families in when you turn on the ignition."
