A CubiScan Dim Weight system was recently supplied to a national provider of outsourcing services. The Dim Weight System is being used to automatically attain both the dimensions and weight of all new items being added to their Sydney warehouse at Chullora in NSW.
Scale Components’ Brisbane branch supplied the industry leading CubiScan 100 Dim Weight System mounted on a trolley outfitted with a PC, rechargeable batteries and integrated inverter/recharging hardware to provide a mobile dimensioning and weighing station.
Rather than arming staff with a set of scales and a ruler and then relying on manually collected and entered data to populate a database, the modern warehouse uses a Dim Weight System such as the CubiScan 100, to automatically capture the weight, dimensional data and bar code information for direct import into their Warehouse Management System.
Warehouse Management Systems require the weight and dimensions of each and every item stored in the warehouse and the CubiScan 100 Dim Weight System is the ideal tool for collecting this information, accurately and efficiently and more importantly, without human error. Each stock item is placed onto the CubiScan’s platter to attain the weight and dimensions which are matched to the product Identification data captured from the barcode label using the attached hand held scanner.
When generating a picking list for client orders, the WMS uses the weight and dimensional data from the cubing system to calculate the exact weight and dimensions of the combined items and then identifies the required carton size for packing and freighting of the goods.
Scale Components is the exclusive Australian distributor for the highly regarded CubiScan range of cubing and dimensioning systems manufactured by Quantronix in the USA. Scale Components also provides a full range of high speed in-motion weighing and data capture systems that are ideal for use in the freight and logistics industries.
