World Belly Dance Day 2010
Arabian Nights Belly Dance
Entertainment, Party, Dance Classes
World Belly Dance Day promotes bellydance as a decent and beautiful art
form. The idea of the day belongs to Lydia Tzigane, Dubai and finally
agreed on the date as the second Saturday in May 2007 and since then
the celebrations have been held in several
countries. Our mission is to unite the initiative of many dancers
around the world
to celebrate the wonderful art of belly dance every year.
We got inspired by the idea of
holding an event that would serve as a reminder that belly dance is an
ART form, a cultural event, a sport, a social interaction and above all
Come along and enjoy the beauty of belly dance with the Arabian
Nights Belly Dancers at Walter Reid Cultural Centre in room 1.5 from
1:30 - 4pm. Arabian Nights Dancers will be hosting workshops and
performances and will have many different cultural and themed costumes
on display including instructor Jillian Corry-Rose's award winning
Earth Goddess Costume for the 2010 Australian Alternative Costume
Competition held with Bellydance Roundtable VIC.
Entry is by gold coin donation and funds raised will go to the Raks In
Rockhampton Festival in September.
