Running shoe companies have been trying for years to find the perfect shoe to allow you to run further, faster and with fewer injuries.  However, an increasing number of runners claim to have found the perfect solution – no shoes at all.

 

Barefoot runners claim to be able to run increased distances with reduced injuries with nothing more than the skin on their feet to protect them from the elements.  Those against barefoot running believe the opposite – your feet need protection and support and that running barefoot is a one way ticket to stress fractures and calf strains.

 

Who is right?  This two-part lecture series will look at the benefits and risks of running barefoot and look closely at how it can alter your running gait.  With practical demonstrations, exercises and video analysis, this will be an interactive experience essential for all those interested in running barefoot.
