Janette began her interest in art from a young age and clay became her means of expressing her creativity, attending many various workshops and classes over the years. After leaving her banking career in the International sector to have a family, Janette then followed her passion and attended South Bank College studying Ceramics to refine her skills in pottery. With the many years of pottery experience behind her, she then embarked on her new career as a full time professional ceramicist which proved very successful. In 1996, the famous Eumundi Markets on the Sunshine Coast in Australia became the outlet to sell her wares. Janette's love for simplicity, colour and shape was reflected in her ceramic pieces which mirrored the beauty of the oriental Japanese style that she admired.
Following in her father's footsteps Janette turned her skills to painting in 2004 due to the influx of inexpensive, imported commercially made ceramics which started inundating the shops. In keeping with the clean, simplistic style and use of vibrant colours that Janette had developed in her pottery range, she was able to recreate this onto canvas. She now creates bold, contemporary abstracts for today's modern homes, offices and apartments. Her work reflects dramatic use of colour and line and has attracted attention from new home owners, renovators and decorators.
