The Amitabha Buddhist Retreat Centre Association, Inc. Is a registered non-profit charitable organization, (ABN 64 335 416 792) which was established in 2002 to offer a place for newcomers and seasoned practitioners to learn about and to practice Pure Land Buddhism. The practice can also support and enhance other belief systems as it calms the mind and fosters mindfulness and stability. We have a group chanting meditation every Sunday and a recorded Dharma talk, followed by a vegetarian lunch at 12.15 PM. Our Sunday session begins at 9 AM sharp and so we request visitors to please arrive at least ten minutes before we begin. For visitors who wish to join us for meditation and also for lunch, please let us know a couple of days earlier, by late Friday afternoon (on 07-4171 0421) for catering purposes. Weekend retreats are held throughout the year, which are generally run bi-monthly and starts on Friday night which finish by Sunday late afternoon. For those interested to attend, please go to our website: to download the application form which needs to be send back to us for approval at least a couple of weeks prior to the retreat, as we have limited accommodation since the Jacaranda Retreat House can only cater for 10 retreat participants. We do not charge for any of our activities but we would like to foster the practice of Dana (which is giving or generosity) for all who attend Sunday meditations, retreats, visit our centre or contact us for any of our Dharma materials. We practice Dana by offering the teachings without a price tag. You can practice Dana by making a donation of money, time and/or labor. Your donation allows us to continue offering the teachings to others. This center was built and is maintained solely by the generosity of all of those who sincerely value the teachings. Our next retreat is scheduled in March 2012, from Friday 9th to 11th. For any queries or more information about future retreats schedules, please send us an email or ring on 07-4171 0421 We wish everyone "Amitabha" which is a Sanskrit word for "Infinite Life, Infinite Light". Amituofo, Celine
