Four local children’s development specialists have teamed together to launch the Sunshine Coast Children’s Development Centre in Mooloolaba.

Kylie Martin (speech pathologist), Lisa Lindley (psychologist), Justine Urbahn (dietitian) and Katie James (midwife and lactation consultant) have developed the centre and the concept over the past few years.

The centre provides a variety of services to enable families and children reach their potential.  These services include speech pathology, postnatal depression support, parenting support, educational assessment, dietetics, midwifery, lactation consultancy and infant massage classes.

“Families can access individual services as they require them”, centre manager Kylie Martin said. “The beauty of this centre is, if families require support from more than one service we are able to co-ordinate appointments and provide multi-service sessions.

“Best of all, because a variety of therapists work together, we are able to provide integrated care to our clients. No longer do families need to go from here to there for appointments, it can happen under one roof”.

All sessions are tailored to meet the individual needs of the children and their families.

Parents and children do not need a referral from their doctors to access support from the SCCDC and Medicare and private health fund rebates can be arranged on site.
