Gallery of Fraser Coast
Craft Supplies, Crafts
Artists wishing to bridge the gap so that they become known by others have to promote themselves in some form.
The obvious ways are adverts and internet sites but the issue with these are that they are a gamble for the viewer as they are unable to form a personal evaluation.
Exhibitions are not limited; I have previously organised and been curator for an animator, for an architectural renderer, a Sunshine Coast post card artist and the list continues.
Anyone can have an exhibition, the gallery and the curator’s job is flexible. Curators are required to have the ability to exhibit anything literally. There have been exhibitions of faeces in cans at the Tate gallery; there is an artist that hangs himself with meat hooks, another artist that has plastic surgery documented as her artwork. The requirement of the gallery is to place the artwork or objects in an artistic display that is both informative, attractive and stimulating and represent the exhibitor‘s interest and needs in what it is they are needing the gallery to convey to the public. The exhibits themselves could be anything, how to exhibit it in the best possible way is the galleries skill.
