We offer a range a systems to protect and monitor termite activity in and around your property. Chemical Treated Zone A Chemical Treated Zones involves applying a liquid chemical to the soil, either under concrete flooring or around the entire perimeter of your home’s foundations. Our Termite Control Technicians are trained to take care of your home, working with you to create an effective barrier with the minimum disruption to your home and its surroundings. Physical Barrier A physical termite barrier is a layer underneath the slab of your home. It comes in wide sheets which are laid in the same way as a moisture layer before the slab is poured. The sheets in a Savige Pest Control barrier are overlapped, sealed with adhesive and taped down with a quality cloth tape. We regularly install the HomeGuard Precision Termite Management System. HomeGuard kills, repels and physically restricts subterranean termites trying to enter the home. It is permanently sealed in to the home, so it can not be disturbed. The active ingredient is distributed evenly throughout the HomeGuard, for a full and continuous subterranean termite barrier. Who should use a barrier? - anyone building a new home - anyone building an extension on a home Baiting Systems Baiting systems concentrate termites into a bait station and then feed the termite a bait – a palatable food containing an active ingredient. The termites collect the bait, return it the colony, and so spread the active ingredient throughout the colony. If enough active ingredient is ingested, then it is possible to eliminate the colony. There are commercial baiting systems that have the bait included - these are available only from licensed professional pest controllers. There are do-it-yourself baiting systems (such as the CSIRO bait box), either built by the home owner or by a professional pest controller. In either case the bait must be applied by a professional pest controller. Bait systems can be applied as stand alone treatments, or as part of a combined approach. Bait systems can form part of the inspection of a house, acting as a continuous monitoring system. Active ingredients in baits include: - hexaflumuron - noviflumuron - chlorfluazuron
