Music Therapy for Children and Adults with Special Needs and Disabilities – Sowing Music Studio (Forest Lake)
Music therapy is an evidence based allied-health profession in which music is used by a registered music therapist to achieve therapeutic goals – including socialisation, communication (verbal/nonverbal), physical, motor and cognitive skills, relaxation, self-expression, self-esteem, etc.
These goals can be addressed through music therapy interventions such as singing, instrument playing, improvisation, movement to music, receptive music listening, song writing, lyric discussion, etc.
