All About Racking And Shelving Australia
Pallet Racking, Drive-In Racking, Racking Audits
This racking system is a high-density type of pallet storage system that offers a limited amount of selectivity when it is compared to a Selective Pallet Racking system.
Pallets are densely stored in bays by the forklift actually driving into the rack structure several positions deep and high to store and retrieve pallet loads.
This type of racking system stores and retrieves pallets from the same aisle space in a last-in, first-out order making Drive-In Rack ideally suited to operations that maintain a large quantity of a relatively low number of SKUs (stock keeping units). Normally, the same SKU and/or lot numbers are stored in the same bay because each level operates independently of the other levels within the same bay. This drive-in racking system can also be designed so that the Channels can be serviced in one direction or both directions. Picking and replenishment is facilitated by means of conventional forklift trucks, keeping costs to a minimum.

Narrow aisle space
