Natural stone is not an ideal material when exposed to the elements. If left untreated for a very short period of time it will bear no resemblance to the product when first laid. Unless professionally cleaned and repolished, natural stone will deteriorate beyond repair, leaving replacement the only viable alternative.
Natural stone should be cleaned with neutral cleaners. Stone cleaners should never contain acid or bleach. Acids, even a light solution of vinegar and water, will etch and eventually damage natural stone.
