Italian Polished Plasters such as Stucco Veneziano (Venetian Stucco), Marmorino, and waxed plasters, have all been used for thousands of years. Originally they were designed as an external coating to keep salt water from penetrating building walls in Europe, in such places like Venice, as far back as 1500 years ago. Polished Plaster is one of the only materials still available today that has this property, making it perfect for both internal and external applications.
Polished Plaster is usually comprised of natural materials, and is mostly made of aged lime putties or lime plasters and Marble flour. Some are as high as 60% in natural Marble dust or flour content, hence when applied and flattened with a trowel, becomes hard and glossy, and feels just like real marble, concrete or stone. Once cured and treated properly, polished plasters are one of the hardest and most durable surface coverings still being used today.
With all the different techniques, textures and colours available, it is possible to achieve a distinctive and interesting finish every time. Even the level of shine and smoothness to the surface is variable.
So whether it is your hotel entry foyer or front reception entrance, we can customise a surface finish to be as unique as you are. We can create any desired feel, or specific effect necessary for the application, and the colour palette required. With a huge range of Stucco plaster finishes available, and the use of stencilling and marbling techniques offered, the possibilities are infinite and only limited by ones imagination.
