Endovenous Laser Ablation (also known as ELA or just laser ablation) is a procedure where a cool laser light fibre is used to heat seal damaged deeper veins that lead to varicose veins which are visible on the surface of the skin. The procedure does not require hospitalisation, only a local anesthetic, and takes around one hour to complete.
