Queensland First Aid today announced that, from July 1, the Brisbane suburb of Newmarket will be the latest area targeted in the organisation's quest to see at least one member from each household across Brisbane trained in First Aid. Queensland First Aid CEO Mr Garry Draper said that the new and improved training system, implemented exactly one year ago, has made it quicker and easier than ever before to be trained in First Aid. "First Aid training teaches invaluable skills that might one day be used to save the life of a loved one," Mr Draper said. "Undertaking a First Aid course shouldn't be a long winded and tedious task, as it often is. Our courses have been specifically designed to meet the time restraints people have these days, without sacrificing learning outcomes." Mr Draper said that for too long, First Aid courses have been more about the trainer than the people being trained: "We are all about respecting people's time and making sure they receive the best possible First Aid training without the long-winded trainers who seem set on impressing classes with their own work experience rather than keeping to script." Courses will be conducted at the Newmarket Community Hall, which is located at the corner of Enoggera Rd & Ashgrove Avenue, Newmarket, a minimum of three times a week. Apply First Aid Course (previously called Senior First Aid) costs $115.00 and includes CPR. Refresher courses are also available. Book online at www.qldfirstaid.com or call 07 3281 9845.
