Two major benefits of the Sodablast process were firstly that there was virtually no flash rusting of the drill rig which due to it's size had to be blasted outdoors - the derrick alone was 33m long - and secondly the other major benefit was to the crack testers who found that the Sodablast process assisted them in the detection of cracks by not concealing them like ordinary grit blasting.

Sodablast makes Old Warbird Engine parts look new again!

The great benefit in using Sodablast in cleaning and de-coking engine parts is the fact that bicarb soda is totally non-abrasive and washes off with water. It's quick and cost effective and will not profile or remove any metal. This is of major importance in the aircraft industry where engine components are periodically crack tested etc.
