Red Sky Cruises 'Comeback' Tours from Red Sky Cruises

We retired from cruising after ten busy years on Red Sky at the end of 2008 and thought we would be happy enjoying socialising, restaurants, theatre and travelling whilst in our new apartment in Darwin. Bored in six months, so we bought 10 acres at Marrakai (86kms from Darwin along Arnhem Highway). We lived in a tent during the buildup to build our shed and then moved into that with airconditioning and a dishwasher of course.

Then the real project - the building of the dream tropical home. A large labour input from ourselves ended with absolute exhaustion. We then thought we would be quite happy sitting out at the 'farm' watching the grass grow!

The lesson here is not to sit still for too long as we start thinking of new projects. We had wavered between running a few trips around the NT, selling Red Sky' for a ridiculous price or returning to the Kimberley. We figured we would stick to what we know and after three years of being on dry land, we wanted to return there for ourselves, so we decided to offer limited cruises for 2012 and 2013. We are planning on changing our format somewhat and whilst still varying our cruises from 8 - 14 nights, will be covering less distance and spending more time at the anchorages that warrant the extra attention   I have updated our website so would appreciate your feedback if you have the chance to check it out -
