Project: Costco Wholesale Melbourne Docklands Architect: Hansen Yuncken Installer: Triple M Plastering (VIC) Liner: Glasbord Embossed PIF Application: Hygienic Wall Panels The new 14,000m² Costco Warehouse in the heart of Melbourne’s Docklands houses one of the largest and most exclusive product selections to be found under a single roof. Everything from groceries, confectionary, appliances, television and media, automotive supplies, tyres, toys, hardware, sporting goods, jewellery, watches, cameras, books, apparel, house-wares, health and beauty aids, tobacco, furniture and office supplies all at prices consistently below traditional wholesale or retail outlets. The ‘back room’ walls of the Costco Warehouse have been lined with the superior Crane Glasbord PIF fibreglass reinforced plastic (frp) panels. Glasbord PIF panels provided the ideal solution for the high impact and trafficable areas in the bakery, food preparation areas and clean rooms where conditions are harsh and durability is a must. Quick and easy to install, Glasbord is highly resistant to scratches, abrasions and other staining. Crane Glasbord PIF with Surfaseal panels are a durable, flexible building material that will not mould, mildew, rot or corrode. It exhibits excellent resistance to mild chemicals and moisture. The panel has a Class C rating for flame spread and smoke development when tested per ASTM E-84. Surfaseal is a unique surface treatment that, when compared to other frp panels, exhibits up to ten times the cleanability, six times the stain resistance, and twice the abrasion resistance. Glasbord embossed panels are designed for interior wall finishes where a sanitary, easy to clean panel is required. A mild cleanser and a soft brush are typically the only things needed to clean a wall or ceiling covered with Glasbord. Permanent marker is wiped off easily with Methylated Spirits. Crane Glasbord with Surfaseal can withstand daily 82ºC hot water high pressure chlorinated cleaning, even an over zealous cleaner with scouring pads and Mr Muscle.
