Treatment for Dislodged Teeth
The Emergency Dentist Sydney
Teeth, Treatment, Cosmetic
Treatment of dental emergencies outside of business hours, 24 hours 7 days. Your dental emergency may be due to a dislodged tooth or teeth (your tooth or teeth have been knocked out).
For children under the age of 6 please go straight to the Westmead Children's Hospital or the Children's Hospital Randwick. If 6 and above or an adult please call us immediately.
When a tooth or teeth have become dislodged there are a few things you can do to help save the tooth before you see us. Try these:
- Gently place the tooth in the socket it came from, without force and hold in place with mouth closed.
- Or, place the tooth in between the cheek and teeth, away from the affected area, to keep it warm and moist.
- Alternatively place it in a container of milk until you see us, please avoid touching the socket with the tongue.
Once we see you we will be able to treat the affected area and advise of a dental plan to either save the teeth or tooth and or make plans for subsequent cosmetic treatment. Please call The Emergency Dentist Sydney for advice and appointments.
