In December 2013, Grant Burge Wines (GBW) engaged Bizcaps to get its product data validated and compliant to industry standards and to publish it on GS1net. Frustrated with delays using its previous middleware, Grant Burge found Bizcaps via the Bizcaps website. An enquiry about the most appropriate GS1net publishing options for GWB was discussed and this quickly became a project for the Bizcaps Service Bureau team. Bizcaps Service Bureau was the perfect answer as GBW could not allocate dedicated internal resources to maintain their GS1net Catalogue. Bizcaps is the only GS1-certified middleware provider that offers a Bureau Service to manage these requirements. The team at Bizcaps created a Bizcaps Enterprise Catalogue and made GBW’s product data compliant with the requirements for GS1net Ready status. Product images and Tasting Notes were also loaded into the Bizcaps Catalogue, allowing it to also be used as a central supply chain data repository for other departments and as a valuable internal resource for other systems within the company. Validated product data was then uploaded to GS1net and quickly assessed by GS1 Australia as being GS1net Ready. GBW will now synchronise its product data with its trading partner Metcash Australian Liquor Marketers (ALM). GBW wanted the problems fixed quickly. “The Bizcaps’ team was extremely responsive and supportive“ said Jacqueline Perret, Logistics Manager, Grant Burge Wines. “Our requirements were covered off without fuss, and the tools supplied enabled us to centralise our data for easy review and update.” In just four weeks GBW’s data had been assembled, validated and published to the GS1net datapool and available for ALM. Bizcaps Service Bureau was designed to take away any pain associated with providing product data to trading partners. In this case, it allows Grant Burge to focus on their core business of making great wines while Bizcaps does what it is best at – managing GS1net and trading partner requirements.
