Bizcaps has successfully integrated Locatenet functionality into Bizcaps MCIS for its client HealthShare NSW. This will enable HealthShare NSW to automatically feed GLNs and changes to Locatenet via MCIS. To facilitate this, Bizcaps had to replicate all mandatory Locatenet fields and worked closely with GS1 to ensure the information transfer was accurate. With more than 2000 GLNs to populate, Bizcaps also developed a bulk upload template where the mandatory data was keyed into the template and uploaded into MCIS only once. This will deliver significant time savings when the remaining 16,000 GLNs have been assigned and are ready to be loaded and published. Valentino Bulaon, Manager Catalogue and Procurement Information, Business Procurement Services, HealthShare NSW said “The Bizcaps team’s completion and delivery of this project is highly commendable. It has been inspiring working with a knowledgeable and professional team.” Locatenet is a central directory of unique Global Location Numbers (GLNs) that allows trading partners to communicate location master data using global standards. GLNs are unique 13-digit reference numbers that may be assigned to any location against which data needs to be captured, including legal entities such as companies, operational entities such as a specific department within the legal entity or physical entities such as a manufacturing location, a distribution centre or hospital, a warehouse, a specific dock within a warehouse, a specific delivery location, a specific shelf in a store room, an operating theatre, a storage cabinet, a nurse’s station or a hospital ward. Adoption of GLNs across the healthcare supply chain and within manufacturers, distribution centres and hospitals delivers key benefits including patient safety, product traceability and supply chain efficiency. Bizcaps Software is a leading provider of GS1net-certified and GDSN-compliant Master Data (MDM and PIM) and Business Process Management (BPM) software and services for GS1net, the National Product Catalogue (NPC), Victorian Product Catalogue System (VPCS) and DHB National Catalogue (DHBNC)
