Want to get more out of your running and not sure how? Our running physio Jared Sharp specialises in identifying problem areas in a runner's technique and training program. A biomechanical running assessment is for anyone who has ever been injured running, wants to run more efficiently, or is just starting to train for an event, and is not sure what the best way to go about it is.
The appointment takes around 90 minutes and includes a clinic based assessment that identifies your goals and needs, looks at your running history, and identifies any underlying bio-mechanical issues that might be impacting your running. The second part involves an outdoor running assessment so make sure you come in your running gear. Your technique will be analysed and you will start on some drills to improve your running. Following the assessment Jared will put together a program developed just for you, designed to improve your running based on the findings at your assessment.
If you currently have an injury that is restricting your running in some way we ask that you come in for an initial physio assessment rather than a running assessment. Injuries will change the way you run and train, and affect the results you will be able to get from a running assessment, so it is better to let us help you resolve the injury first then look at how you would run normally.
