Sulphur Hexafluoride SF6 Leak Detection in Electrical Sub-stations to meet EPA Ozone Protection & Synthetic Greenhouse Management Regulation including OH&S Act
Sulphur Hexafluoride SF6 is widely used by Electrical Power Utility companies to insulate switchgears and transformers..
Sulphur Hexafluoride SF6 Risk Factors:
• OH&S Issue: Accidental SF6 leaks may reduce Oxygen concentration to unsafe levels (
Gas Alarm Systems (a div of ALVI Technologies) SPC-D3-1184 standalone SF6 Gas Controller is all built into one. It utilises Dual Bean Infra-Red Sensing technology NDIR) to detect and continuously monitor any leakage of Sulphur Hexafluoride from electrical transformers, electrical switchgears in electrical substations in the range of 0-1000 ppm SF6. The SPC-D3-1184 comes with LC display, alarm LEDs, relays for actuating external audio-visual alarms, auto-diagnostic watchdog with fault LED, power ON LED, buzzer and 1 x analogue output for PLC or SCADA system. Dual Beam Infra-Red sensor is highly selective to SF6 only having no cross sensitivity to any other gas and is maintenance free having 10 years+ life. The SPC-D3-1184 can also be added with 1 x external Oxygen Sensor/Transmitter to monitor Oxygen depletion to ensure safety of people entry the sub-station, when it comes to meeting the requirements of ODP or GWP issues, OH&S issues SPC-D3-1184 will provide years of continuous monitoring with assured reliability
