For example, in combustion applications like refinery vessels, chemical furnaces, kilns, incinerators, etc the Thermbond refractory technology allows for heat up rates 2 – 20 times faster than traditional binder systems. The rapid heat up capability is achieved through the mixng of phosphoric acid solution in place of water. The chemically bound water found in the H3PO4 releases very slowly over a range of temperatures. This allows the bonded aggregate structure of Thermbond refractory to release moisture gradually without damaging itself during rapid heat up.
