We are also including 9 brand new Ball Mason regular mouth pint bottles with this kit. Ball Mason bottles are beautifully embossed, giving a real old world authenticity to your home preserves. They are also very easy to use: they come with a 2 part lid; a flat dome incorporating a seal and a screw band that holds the dome in place during processing. Simply fill your jars, clean the top rim, place the dome on top and then screw the band on finger tight. After the jars have been removed and have cooled, the vacuum created will hold the dome seal in place and you can remove the screw band to reuse on other jars. Or leave it in place if you like the look of it!

The Simple Natural Preserving Kit holds 5 of No.31/Ball quart bottles or 8 of No.20/ Ball Pint bottles for processing at once. For this reason, it is suited to small batch preserving (ie batches of no more than 5kg at a time). The Fowlers Vacola Simple Natural Preserver takes only 60 minutes to preserve summer's natural fruits. Simply place fruit into the fowlers preserving jar top with the liquid of your choice (fruit juice water sugar syrup liqueur) and seal with Fowlers ring lid and clip. Place bottles into unit which is filled with cold water and plug in. After 60 minutes a vacuum seal forms and the fruit is preserved and may be stored on the shelf for future use & without needing refrigeration.
It is suitable for preserving all tyes of acidic foods, which includes most fruits and tomatoes. Note that it is not suited to preserving non acidic foods such as vegetables, meats and soups. If you wish to preserve those items you should consider a pressure canner such as the Presto pressure canner or the All American Pressure canner (these can process both acidic and non acidic foods and can also be used as a large pressure cooker).
