Just making it to a job interview is an achievement and so, if you have been offered an interview, well done! Job interviews vary depending on the role you have applied for. They can include:
1. One to one interviews
2. Panel interviews – common when applying for a public sector or academic role
3. Screening interviews – when a consultant from a recruitment agency interviews you as part of the process of putting together a short list of applicants for the client organisation that has a vacant position. If you are successful in being short listed, you may be asked to attend further interviews with the recruitment agency and or the client organisation.
The key point is that each interview is different and you need to be prepared. As every interviewed person is capable of doing the advertised job, you must be ready to go in there and sell yourself.
The Job Seeker Coach can help you prepare for a job interview. We will ask you for full details about yourself, the position you are applying for and details of the job interview. We will then provide you with written guidance on the types of questions you may be asked and what you should include in your response. If you require it, we will also provide written advice on what to wear and how to behave at an interview.
We offer also a video or phone interview coaching session where we will run you through some questions and give you a chance to practice your answers and be coached on how to sell yourself.
If you have never been to a job interview before, or it has been some time since you had an interview, or you have been unsuccessful with your interviews recently contact the Job Seeker Coach for assistance: 0425 241 391 or www.jobseekercoach.com.au
