Floating Treatment Wetland
Harris Environmental Consulting
Floating Treatment Wetlands are used to treat stormwater, wastewater and industrial process water. They are also used as Floating Streambank Edges for the additional benefits or streambank erosion control, riverbank rehabilitation and aesthetic enhancement. The system consists of a bouyancy frame on which our pre established wetland plants (grown on coir mats) are installed. The pre established wetland mats (1 sqm) are also sold seperately as they provide an effective method of instant revegetation, particularly where there is a problem with erosion or bird predation that prevents the traditional method of establishment. The typical FTW module is 4mx 4m and can be scaled up to any size that is practical to anchor and maintain. Typically, our larger units are 100 sq m (as shown in Photo).
