Turning Heads Art Crown Project 2012
Rainbow Face Painting and Mural Art
Wellbeing, Body Art, Body Painting
It was an absolute pleasure to initiate and follow to completion an amazing concept last year working to bring public awareness and the gift of acceptance and positive self image to sufferers of Alopecia through art and photography (Lina Hayes).
There is more information and links to the project images on my website and facebook pages, it was a wonderful uplifting and very touching experience and I am so very proud to have achieved all we did including local and national press coverage, inspiring a beautiful song (wow!) and engaging the support and interest from people all over the globe.
I painted and decorated over a dozen beautiful crowns from project participants in NSW, QLD and Victoria - thank you so much for your trust and bravery and all your efforts to join in and to get to me!
Anyone interested in crowns for anyone suffering hair loss - Alopecia or due to Chemotherapy, this is a gentle and safe way of bringing some warm and positive attention to an area of the body that is often associated with embarrassment or loss. It was amazing to see and hear the participants describe their feelings at their photo-shoots, all of them saying they had never felt more special or beautiful.
Crowns usually take 1.5 hours to complete and can be painted in body paints which is temporary (washes off with water) or henna (100% safe and natural) whose stain will last a week or more.
