Innovit to support UK Healthcare sector for NHS eProcurement and GDSN

Innovit stands ready to inject its world-leading data management and synchronisation solutions into the UK Healthcare sector, and so boost supplier companies’ capacity to meet new e-procurement requirements.
Last year, the UK Department of Health mandated the use of GS1 Standards in e-procurement by National Health Service (NHS) Trusts. Innovit solutions are a remedy for the stresses being experienced by some suppliers since this mandate arrived.
Innovit will have its solutions and its expertise on display at the GS1 UK Healthcare Conference 2015, in Loughborough on 9-10 June. As an exhibitor in this major event, Innovit will showcase the support it has given to more than 170 projects for creating healthcare product catalogues to GS1’s Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) globally. “We hope to provide healthcare suppliers and NHS Trusts with valuable information and tools to aid in their planning and implementation of NHS e-procurement programs,” says Paul Marsters of Innovit.
Innovit’s “certified-by-GS1” software has been the solution of choice for many of the world’s leading healthcare companies as they seek to manage, validate and publish GDSN catalogues to data pools for Healthcare sector e-procurement programs, notably in Australia (the National Product Catalogue or NPC) and in New Zealand (the District Health Board National Catalogue or DHBNC).
In the UK, the e-procurement strategy aims to achieve over £1.5 billion in efficiency savings throughout the NHS. All NHS Trusts must adopt GS1 Standards including GSDN, and suppliers need to become compliant now.
The GS1 UK conference in June is a widely seen as a “must-attend” event for everyone in the Healthcare sector as they build understanding of how to use GS1 Standards for greater efficiency and patient safety in the NHS.
Innovit’s Paul Marsters says: “This event will be the first step in the process for Healthcare companies to understand the impact these changes will have on their business. The procurement process of NHS is about to change permanently, and NHS suppliers need to begin their compliance journey now.”
“Innovit software solutions are certified by GS1 and they help companies to achieve compliance with the new NHS requirements quickly and easily. Companies can be assured that they are implementing a controlled, disciplined and sustainable process to manage, validate and publish their product data in the GDSN and also Eucomed/UDI standards. Innovit software allows you to ‘take control’ of your master data, and the critical Regulatory Affairs information that is currently stored in a myriad of systems and spreadsheets across the organisation,” says Mr Marsters.
