What are the things you may want to know about your counsellor:
1. Are you qualified to provide mental health counselling?
Yes, your appointment will be with Janelle White, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
2. Does a Social Worker provide counselling for a range of issues?
Yes, your appointment will be with a social worker who has trained in and is highly experienced in working with people with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, child and adult sexual assault, domestic violence, post traumatic stress disorder, grief and loss, including children.
3. Is my counsellor part of an accredited organisation?
Yes your counsellor is an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers and has to attain this every year through ongoing professional development.
4. Will my counsellor relate to me and my family?
Your counsellor is focused on meeting your needs rather than judging your circumstances and she will help you to find practical solutions to solving problems.
5. Do you provide CBT?
Yes, CBT or Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is commonly used to deal with negative thinking and how it makes you feel.
