BCA Section J Reports (DTS and JV3)
Building Design, Building Designer, Energy Efficiency
The Building Code of Australia (BCA) is 'a uniform set of technical provisions for the design and construction of buildings and other structures throughout Australia whilst allowing for variations in climate and geological or geographic conditions'.
Class 2 to 9 buildings which are required to satisfy the requirements of the BCA Volume One need to meet the requirements of the BCA Section J for energy efficiency. The objective of Section J is 'to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by efficiently using energy'.
Section J Assessment and Compliance reports are required for commercial buildings (Class 2 to 9) as part of the Development Application process to demonstrate the ability of the design to comply with the BCA.
Section J Assessment is a fairly complex task and requires a thorough understanding of the BCA and building thermal dynamics and systems. Currently we perform Deemed to Satisfy DTS and JV3 provisions of the BCA.
AENEC can carry out Section J Assessments and Compliance reporting for commercial developers and architects throughout NSW. Contact us for a personalised consultation.
