Sutherland Shire Meditation Group Term 2 commences Tuesday 30 April at 7:30pm at the Caringbah Community Hall in Port Hacking Rd (next to the library). The term runs until 25 June 2013. Due to popular request, we are going to explore the "16 Guidelines for Life" (16G) again. The 16 Guidelines were developed as " a direct & practical tool for making life better. They provide a simple yet robust framework for reflecting on the way we think, speak & act, & for creating the causes to experience lasting happiness & meaning." The 16G use a secular approach, based on inspirational values & principles which are common to the spiritual, religious & philosophical traditions of the world, even if they aren't always put into practice. Personally, I found reflecting upon the 16G to be very beneficial - I became aware of my ways of thinking & acting which were not helpful to me & those I interacted with. By meditating upon & practising more positive qualities, I have found more peace, happiness & meaning in my life......but still a long way to go, so I am looking forward to exploring the 16G again with the group. You may want to check out the 16G website: http://www.16guidelines.org/16guidelines-overview Hope to see you at group, whenever you can make it. Ring Aleta 0410 441 942 if you have any queries.
