The thermal treatment systems that are available for the WTE plant vary from staged gasification in a bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) to staged combustion on push grates or Vee grates. All are designed by Fraser Energy to produce maximum thermal efficiency with minimum controlled emissions when enclosed in the steam boiler or heat exchanger. The Vee grate is the simplest, lowest cost unit with good capability on sized waste of varying moisture content (MC) and energy value. The push grate can handle larger sized wastes even unsorted wastes, such as raw municipal solid waste (MSW). The fluid bed is preferred for wastes containing high plastics and/or sludge contents.
