The RISI, Rail Industry Safety Induction, is a simple training course which introduces its participants to the basic hazards in the real operations of the rail environment. Awareness on track safety and electrical safety are tackled in this training course.
After going through the Rail Industry Safety Induction, you will be fully aware of the important safety needs and hazards as well as legal obligations that you need to identify and eventually deal with within your new job within the Australian Rail Industry.
The RISI course will cover:
•Descriptions of interlocking equipment and basic signaling indications
•Rules for people working in the danger zone, or on platforms
•Worksite protection arrangements
•Common track-side signage
•Basic hand signals
•Peculiarities of train movements
•Critical personal responsibility.
Rail Industry Safety Inductions gives out awareness among its participants. After going through the course, they are now fully aware of the important safety needs and hazards as well as legal obligations that they need to identify and eventually deal with as they do their jobs. Hand signals are taught, worksite protection management and basic rules for those in the danger zone.
