Our Load Restraint course covers all of the critical points required to ensure you are able to meet the requirements in securing and restraining loads.

 

This course is designed to provide the student with the skills and knowledge required to Load and Unload Goods/Cargo using different types of load restraints and methods safely whilst complying with regulations.

 

Each student will be exposed to different types of restraint and have the chance to practice using them. All students will be issued a Second Edition 2004 Load Restraint Guide Book. This book sets out guidelines and performance standards for the safe carriage of loads on road vehicles.

 

This course is linked to the following units of competency:

TLID2004A Load and Unload Goods/Cargo

 

The course is conducted over a period of six (6) hours and covers the following areas of Load Restraint:

  • * Load Restraint equipment
  • * Methods of Load restraint
  • * Friction and Forces on loads
  • * Restraint capabilities
  • * Load positioning
  • * Restraining Dangerous goods
  • * Safety and condition of load restraints
  • * How to use the load restraint guide book
  • * General PPE requirements for using restraints

 

On the successful completion of this course, the student will be issued with a Certificate of Participation.

 

A Statement of Attainment for TLIA1001A Secure Cargo and TLID2004A Load and Unload Goods/Cargo can be issued after a 30 day observation checklist is completed by the students Supervisor/Manager and returned to BE Logistics Training. This provides evidence that the student has performed the required skills over a period of time, as required in the Critical Aspects of Evidence for the Unit of Competency.
