"Under a Ghawazee Moon" Bellydance Student Showcase
Ghawazee Moon Bellydance
Dance School, Belly Dance
The Ghawazee Moon Bellydance Student Showace, their first "big stage" concert in July 2012, was a great sucess! Students from beginner to advanced levels, aged from 5 to adult, demonstrated the enthusiasm, joy and professional technique associated with Ghawazee Moon Bellydance. The show ran very smoothly and the audience was delighted with a range of dances from traditional, folkloric, through to gypsy, drum, baladi and modern fusion styles. Special guest performances by Obsidian of Spellbound and TABLA bellydance wowed audiences and inspired students.
Non performing students were busy backstage and made great greeters and seaters in the front of house. Belconnen Community Theatre, or [email protected] as it is now known, once again showed what a versatile space it could be for community dance groups and schools.
Well done to all the performers and organisers. It was a truly enjoyable evening!
After other sucessful performances at the National Museum of Australia and Floriade, students are now working towards this year's annual concert, scheuled for the 27th July. The Ghawazee Moon Bellydance school has added a few more students over the last 6 moths, including a mother-daughter class! We look forward to seeing the results at the 2013 "Under a Ghawazee Moon" Show!
