GPET is a public company, limited by guarantee, and subject to Corporate Law and the Commonwealth Authority and Company Act. It was incorporated in March 2001. GPET's objective is to implement regionalised and contestable GP vocational training that reflects the current and future healthcare needs of Australians. GPET will build on existing strengths and structures to establish a system that continues to meet the evolving needs of GPs and their patients.
