Zuster means sister in Dutch, but in terms of Australian contemporary furniture design it stands for well-conceived design and quality craftsmanship. In the 1990’s four sisters began creating timeless and beautifully crafted timber furniture, by applying contemporary and world class design, supported by excellence in craftsmanship and customer service.
Simple lines and unadorned forms provide the perfect foundation for beautiful timber grains and meticulous craftsmanship.
The Zuster design philosophy embraces a strong attention to the finer details such as subtle shadow lines, seamless timber butterfly handles and the careful selection and matching of timber grains, working with the proportions of each piece.
Timber grains are matched and continuous across all aspects of the furniture, from the front facing timber right through to the parts you often don’t see. Such attention to detail and craftsmanship can only be achieved through the utilisation of top flight craftspeople, each of who manage and oversee the construction of individual items, from beginning to end.
