Perth
designer Zanzis was announced as the winner of the feature ‘Red Carpet
Glamour’ section of the WA Fashion Awards with a stunning haute couture gown.
The winners were named at the end of the Perth Fashion Festival at a gala
awards dinner held at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre.
The Zanzis gown was an exclusive design featuring a black, silk
satin, mini dress with a fitted strapless corset, which was teamed with a
detachable silk organza flowing over-skirt and topped off with a stunning
feather neckpiece. The design was originally conceived as a one-of-a kind
engagement gown for a Zanzis client.
Jennifer Naglan, owner and head designer of the Subiaco
based Zanzis, said “I am thrilled that our design was selected as this year’s
Fashion Awards winner. The Awards cap off a hectic year of designing our latest
range of bridal couture and it is very rewarding to now be recognised for our
special occasion designs as well.”
“The
idea for the winning gown came after we were asked to design a very
contemporary, ultra modern, wedding gown. Ultimately the bride-to-be, a
beautiful, young Perth lawyer, decided to go with something from our range that
was a little more traditional, and instead we used the original ideas to make
an amazing and unique dress for her engagement party.”
This
is the third time that Zanzis has been recognised at the WA Fashion Awards,
having previously won awards in 2004 and 2006. Best known as one of Perth's leading designers of stunning bridal gowns, Zanzis also designs and makes one-off couture gowns for other special occasions.
The
