The Ad Company www.theadcompany.com.au now has franchises in WA, NSW and Victoria.

It is in negotiation overseas – South Africa (documents signed), UK, USA and NZ.

Founded by Tony Clemenger – the group uses digital technology and geographic realities to help SMEs with their local needs.

SMEs have branding needs – the challenge is to offer them the products they need at a cost effective price. Creativity is a process, like all products, we can offer an SME solution. Tony knows that thought is the essence to a great idea – one does not have to charge for the subconscious process – so long as we give the SME a realistic timeframe we can develop their logo, slogan, corporate id, the website/brochure – the Advertising and Marketing Plan can be agreed upon and implemented.

Systems are key to efficiency, be you within a MNC, SME of Franchise – and technology help – we can also centralise a lot of the creative and production – specialists work online – within the intranet, with clients, and other franchisees – it is all about effective communication – and time/systems.

Tony has worked within Clemenger and the BBDO network, lectured in Australia and Overseas, published articles, books and spoken at many expos and conferences – Tony sits on, has been involved with a number of Boards and Committees – including being President of the Small Enterprise Association of Australia and New Zealand, Victorian President of the Australian Marketing Institute, the Franchise Council of Australia, UNAA and Aspire Training – another NFP.

Tony states – “it is great to try; I love working with SMEs – owners and managers that make decisions – take action.”

The interesting point is that Franchising a Service is not the norm, let alone a creative one – but Tony does seem to understand the creative process – and wants to offer this service, the branding solution, an Integrated Marketing Communications plan to SMEs.

SMEs are certainly a popular target market at the moment – and some of The Ad Company Franchisees are having the desired success – but Franchising a service – creativity and strategy – not an easy job.

The Ad Company has a product range for Logos, to Business Cards, Brochures to Websites, to Advertising and Marketing Plan – they offer a Media Service, SEO and Google AdWords, along with a rebranding special, advertising and marketing plan special – and a number of other products. It is interesting to see the website, the centralised production facility – and understand how The Ad Company helps SMEs.

Tony knows that a lot more has to be done, and a great deal improved – franchisees need a better network, better promotion – the system is under continual improvement – finances are not easy to manage – and the network, in Australia and Overseas has to grow – but hard work work work is the BBDO motto – and being a Clemenger – Tony does try to do his best.
