Symmetry is one of the leading independent jewellery valuers on the Gold Coast. Unlike other valuers, Symmetry is completely independant, meaning they do not trade or have corporate alliances with other companies (i.e. insurance organisations). This means when you bring your treasure to Symmetry you receive an unbiased appraisal based on the highest industry standards and state of the art technology.
Symmetry’s industry status is led by owner Kym Hughes who is president of the NCJV and holds a position on the management committee of Queensland Gemmological Association of Australia. Registered with the National Council of Jewellery Valuers (NCJV), Symmetry is bound by a code of ethics that protects the customer and upholds a high standard of quality. All members of the NJCV must have accredited training in all the key areas of gemmological study, gemstone grading and the detection of synthetic gemstones.
The reality of jewellery valuations is that you do not need any tertiary qualifications to practise as a jewellery valuer. However, Kym is an expert in her field and is constantly studying to update her skills and knowledge of the industry. Her qualifications include:
