How does Sydney Electrical Appliance Testing actually test the safety of my appliances?

Sydney Electrical Appliance Testing inspects and tests all appliances in accordance with Australian Standard AS 3760: 2003. Qualified test and tag technicians use specialised appliance testing instruments to test for invisible electrical faults, as well as completing a thorough visual inspection. Earth continuity – tests that your appliance is properly connected to Earth
Insulation resistance – tests that no current is flowing where it shouldn’t be

Polarity test – Checks that extension cords and power boards are wired correctly
RCD Trip time test – Tests that your RCD (aka ‘Safety Switch’) will switch off fast enough to prevent injury in the case of a fault developing
