Sydney, 3 July 2006 – Software Choice, an independent management advisory service that helps organisations identify and select software solutions according to their needs and budget, has today launched the Australian Business Software Directory. Available online at http://www.softwarechoice.com.au, Software Choice’s directory aims to provide organisations with the only resource in Australia that includes all business software available to Australian consumers. Software Choice’s Australian Business Software Directory already lists details of over 600 vendors representing almost 1,000 software products. These include but are not limited to Accounting Software, Business Process Management, Collaboration, Customer Service, Engineering and Design, ERP, Facilities Management, Finance and Banking, HR and Payroll, Manufacturing, Marketing Management, Reporting and Analystics, Sales Force Automation, Supply Chain Management, Databases and Operating Systems. Software Choice believes it is the largest single source of its type in Australia. Access is free and potential users can search by keyword or browse by industry, business size and software type. Within the next three months more features will be incorporated into the Australian Business Software Directory, including advanced searching, events listings, product brochures, white papers and a wiki-type community portal. Vendors will be able to log in and maintain their own listings while visitors will still be able to search the database free of charge. “Our experience shows that Australian businesses find it extremely difficult to find out what software is available for their business size and industry. There are limited options available which cater only for specific vertical markets, or only include paid listings. Software Choice is opening up the directory for sponsorship on a first come first served basis for over 100 portal pages which provide information and navigation by industry, business size and software type throughout the directory.
