The Queensland Conservatoire of Ballet P/L, established in 2005, is the Queensland centre of excellence in vocational training in classical dance. Founding Directors Nicole Marshman-Geyl and Martyn Fleming, along with a select team of highly qualified and experienced former professional dancers are dedicated to providing the highest calibre of classical dance training available in Queensland. Maina Geilgud, former director of the Australian Ballet Company and “Honorary” Executive Director of the Queensland Conservatoire of Ballet P/L, provides a wealth of experience on the Queensland Conservatoire of Ballet P/L’s guest teaching faculty. The QC Ballet recently introduced the MBI scheme - designed to offer an incentive for leading dance schools in Qld to recommend an alternative to interstate relocation in order to receive full-time/part-time tuition for their talented students. Let’s keep the talent in Queensland. The QC Ballet offers full-time and part time tuition streams in classical contemporary ballet. With modern, fully equipped dance studios located in a relaxed environment, access to an academic class-room with Tutor available, access to a small gymnasium, 500 seat auditorium and café on site - the facilities are first class. In addition it is anticipated that stage one of an architecturally designed fitness facility, which will eventually include 6 dance studios, 350 seat dance theatre, professional gymnasium personal training studios, Pilates studio, martial arts dojang, café, Dance shop, child minding facility children’s playground, commercial kitchen and recreational swimming pool will commence construction in 2007. In short, talented students can remain in Queensland, return to their foundation school (your school) for evening tuition (if local) or during holidays when QC Ballet is inactive, and enjoy the benefits associated with proximity to family friends. The Queensland Conservatoire of Ballet P/L offers vocational training* to students from 12 years of age. Acceptance into all programmes is by audition only.
