BodyGuard provides an industrial proximity alert / warning solution for applications that involve Heavy Vehicles (such as Haul Road Trucks), Utility vehicles, moving machinery, vehicles and people.
The system offers continuous detection and notification of proximity between moving objects and other moving or fixed objects.
BodyGuard sets up user-defined protection zones around a vehicle, equipment, beacons or buildings to offer continuous protection for your valuable resources.
Whenever a BodyGuard detection unit enters the protection zone of another BodyGuard proximity unit an alarm warning is activated. The alarm is deactivated when the object moves outside the protection zone. The typical proximity protection zone is user-programmable from around 2m to 50m.
The BodyGuard proximity alert and warning system consists of 3 main component types.
A typical system can comprise 1 or more of the following component types.
Proximity Detector Unit – This unit transmits digitally coded radio signals that can be detected by other Proximity Detector Units. The proximitydetectorunit also continuously receives and processes signals from other proximity detectors and Personal Tag units.
Control Unit – This unit enables multiple sensors to be fitted to a vehicle enables remote setup of proximity protection zones using a PDA or Laptop computer. The oeth big feature of the control unit is that is stores a list of all near miss events. (Like a “black box” that can be used to provide an Audit trail in the event of an incident).
Personal TAG Unit – The TAG unit is typically worn by a person (typically belt or hard-hat mounted), the unit continually emits the coded radio signal to be received and processed by Proximity Detector Units.
