Obits Pty Ltd was formed in the later part of 2005 to develop and operate obits.com.au. The purpose of obits is simple. Funeral Directors and site visitors are able to place Australian Death Notices, Funeral Notices and Obituaries on one centralised NATIONAL website. Users are then able to perform a national or state name search for the funeral notice, death notice or obituary they are looking for, or browse all notices. Quite often trying to find out details of a funeral or death is very difficult. It requires constantly searching in the paper, or ringing close friends or family in their time of grief. Obits.com.au intends to heavily promote this service so that it becomes a centralised searching point in Australia. The site also contains a regional search and postcode search for funeral directors and funeral industry products and services in Australia, along with contact details and weblinks. Users can also send flowers, print notices and email notices to their family and friends.
